SevenBar Aviation actively participates in the Safety Management System (SMS) program, created and implemented by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in 2010. The system provides an organizational framework to guide, track, and provide recognition of safety practices by commercial air operators. The effort offers companies the opportunity to work with the FAA to determine safety policies, procedures and practices that can be tailored for a company’s individual needs.
The SMS program is effectively a partnership with the FAA, designed to establish and maintain a fully integrated safety system. SevenBar Aviation’s customers and employees can be assured that the company meets the highest standards in aviation safety and operations as a participant in the SMS program.
SevenBar Aviation was recognized by the FAA as an exemplary model of SMS practices.
Our SevenBar Aviation Safety Commitment statement reflect our commitment to this project, and is displayed prominently in all operating bases. In addition to giving this pilot project our full support, we’ve also launched several other SMS-defined tools. This includes an innovative Risk Assessment Matrix which evaluates events and conditions based on varying degrees of severity and likelihood, so that we can better assess the safety risks involved in any given situation.
